Tri-Lingual Samples
– Video: iPad App prototype
Download Triptych: Tri-Alpha iPad/iPhone App:
Compare the alphabet in three languages while playing with letters and related sounds in a dynamic three-part display. The first version includes English, Greek and Hindi character sets, inputs through a text field, and a word gallery. The app is an educational game for children and life-long learners with interest in languages, and a striking visual and aural analysis of commonality and differences in languages.
The triptych color-coded bold typographic interface creates a display where your interactions with alphabets and words in one language generates automated actions in two other languages. A sliding interface shows the full character set. Inputs of words through a text field spell the word in English and show the closest match for each character in Greek and Hindi. A word gallery leads to selected word infiltrations between languages, e.g. Hindi words in English, Greek words in English, etc. (Other languages will be included in the later versions of the project).
A video of the first prototype is included here. The app will be launched soon. We are also developing new features that further expand on the concept of simultaneous interactions with multiple languages, utilize multilingual scripts, typography and phonetics, and use iPhone/iPad and computing capabilities for creating contexts where we may cherish seeing words that look different and sound foreign.
